How does delivery work?

Postal Treats Via DPD U.K. and Royal Mail (Islands and Highlands)

  • On checkout you can choose your desired date of delivery.
  • DPD and Royal Mail have a very high success rate of deliveries on time but occasionally there might be a delay due to a breakdown or human error in a sorting office. For this reason we would always recommend if you 100% need your postal treats for a specific date, choose the day before just in case. The postal treats keep perfectly for upto 10 days.
  • Once your order is dispatched from our floral bakery you will receive an email from DPD / Royal mail with tracking details.
  • DPD  will send you a text and email on the morning of the delivery telling you a 1-hour delivery window. (Texts are not sent with the Royal mail service) .
  • If you or the recipient won’t be there to receive the parcel, you can request alternative options with DPD directly via your tracking link.
  • DPD will not automatically leave the parcel if the recipient is not home if they do not deem it safe to leave. On this occasion they will leave a calling card and attempt redelivery the following day. Blushing Cook cannot be held responsible for delays or missed deliveries between DPD and the customer. We recommend choosing a safe spot or “leave with neighbour” option. Please note, however, if this is chosen we are not held responsible for parcels that have been delivered to safe places and in the unfortunate event gone missing.
  • DPD / Royal Mail is currently operating contactless deliveries due to Covid-19.
  • The products will be at your risk from the time you accept delivery of the products from the courier.
  • Please note that although all freshly baked products will be sent on a next day service we cannot accept liability for delays occurring within the DPD / Royal Mail system.
  • Please note that we usually use DPD / Royal Mail as our shipping partners and as such offer you delivery guidelines based on their published recommendations. Therefore we are not liable for any delivery issues once the items have left our kitchen. However, we will always do our very best to understand and resolve issues on your behalf.

Will it fit though the letterbox or do I need to be there for the delivery ?

  • Our Postal Brownies and biscuits do not always fit through the letterbox so we recommend leaving a safe place option in case your recipient isn’t there to receive them.
  •  Where delivery is requested, it is the customer’s responsibility to ensure a complete and correct address is supplied, along with a correct phone number for contact. It is also the customer’s responsibility that there is someone to accept the delivery at the address. Blushing Cook cannot accept responsibility for late or missing deliveries due to insufficient or incorrect information supplied, or because there is no-one to accept delivery.
  • Please note if the recipient is unable to accept delivery, there is an option with DPD for the customer to instruct the driver through the link provided to leave it in a safe place or with a neighbour.

Celebration Cake Delivery

  • Once your cake has been collected from our bakery you will receive a tracking link to your email.
  • Our cake couriers aim to deliver all their deliveries by 6pm latest.
  • We safely box and package our cakes. If there are any issues with the cake on delivery, please take photographs of this and contact us within 24 hours to notify us. Blushing Cook will not accept liability for any complaints made after this time.
  • Once the cake has been delivered safely by our courier it is deemed in good condition. Blushing Cook will provide details of the best way to store and handle your cake but cannot be held responsible for damages that may occur after delivery.

Dietary & Allergen Info

Do you sell Gluten-free products?

Yes, we have wheat-free brownies and flapjack available that are baked without using gluten flour. However, please note that they are made in the same kitchen as our gluten based products and even though our bakers have strict measures in place to prevent cross-contamination, there is a always a chance of traces of gluten on our free-from products.

Do you sell vegan products?

We currently offer a vegan brownie and our floral flapjack is also vegan. Please note if you are dairy free, our kitchen does contain dairy products and whilst we take strict measures to prevent cross contamination, there is always a chance of traces of dairy.

Do you sell Nut-Free products ?

Most of our products are nut- free. We do however produce some cakes and brownies containing nuts in the same environment and we do bake with different kinds of nuts in our kitchen. Even though our kitchen team have strict measures and procedures in place to prevent cross-contamination, we cannot guarantee that our products don't contain traces of nuts even when nuts are not listed as an ingredient.

Are the flowers edible?

Yes, all the flowers we use are edible. We use a reputable organic flower farmer who grows pesticide free edible flower varieties.

On the celebration cake we occasionally use stems of the flowers. Whilst the petals are safe to eat and actually very much like a thin wafer texture, we advise removing the stems before eating as they are used mostly as decoration only.

Are there any allergens on the flowers?

Some of the flowers may contain flowers from the Celery and Mustard family. We also advise those with severe pollen allergies to avoid eating the flowers.

Storage

What's the best way to store and enjoy my treats?

Brownies

On arrival, the brownies will keep perfectly within their package at ambient temperature for up 10 days. They can also be stored in the refrigerator but we recommend enjoying them at room temperature. They can be frozen for up to 1 month.

Biscuits

Our biscuits keep perfectly well for 10 - 14 days within their package at ambient temperature.

Celebration Cakes

Celebration cakes should be stored in a refrigerator but we do recommend to leave the cake out at room temperature for about 30 minutes before serving as the flavour & texture is best when the product is not too cold.

We guarantee that cakes for customer orders are always freshly baked and will last refrigerated for 5-7 days.
